Why Kenya Gen z Are Protesting for #OccupyJKIA

 Nairobi, July 23, 2024 – Kenyans have taken to the streets in defense of the #OccupyJKIA protests due to a cocktail of reasons, ranging from dissatisfaction with the current government and perceived corruption cases and controversial economic deals. These protests have been driven to address broader issues affecting the country, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) only being the spark that ignited the current unrest.

1. Government Accountability and Corruption:

The protestors accuse the government of not upholding transparency and accountability in the management of major public assets, especially JKIA.
