NAIROBI, Kenya ; July 12, 2024 – The body of Samuel Ngure, who went missing three weeks ago, was found lying in the Nairobi City Mortuary. Ngure, missing since June 23, was involved in an accident along Magadi Road. His family identified him Friday after the media aired his plight Sunday.

An investigation by the Kenya News Updates took the team to Lang'ata Police Station, where it emerged that the police had a record of Ngure's death. Noah Wafula, operating a tree nursery along Magadi Road, revealed a supposed accident site where Ngure was hit by a matatu.
"Alikuwa na trouser ya kaki na alikuwa na majeraha kwa kichwa," Wafula recounted.
Other eyewitnesses, including Zakariah Njaramba, a bodaboda rider, narrated the June 23 incident, saying Ngure was hit by a matatu.
"He hit him and tried to escape.
We held him with stones, and he came back to carry him and take him to the hospital," said Njaramba.
The family, accordingly, moved Ngure's body from the City Mortuary to Uplands in Kiambu County.
He is not a body unknown. He is our son. We love him even in death, Ngure's father said.
The family awaits the postmortem report amidst painful and sorrowful moments that have gripped his loved ones following Ngure's death.
Eyewitnesses have identified the exact spot where the accident took place, which revealed what had occurred to cause this loss.
