Ruto names 10 Cabinet secretaries and AG |
Facing pressure to select competent individuals who can help deliver his agenda, Ruto named the new Cabinet members flanked by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi.
We are enhancing, broadening and deepening the national economic turnaround Plan set out in the bottom-up Economic Transformation Agenda to incorporate a wider range of ideas, programmes and interventions that will facilitate job creation, robust debt management, enhanced transparency and accountability in the use of public resources and enhanced domestic resource mobilisation, and optimise public expenditure, President Ruto said.
The newly nominated Cabinet Secretaries and Attorney General candidate are as follows:
- Kithure Kindiki - Ministry of Interior
- Dr. Debra Mulongo Barasa - Health
- Alice Wahome - Lands
- Aden Duale - Defence
- Davis Chirchir - Transport
- Rebecca Miano - Attorney General
- Soipan Tuya - Environment
- Julius Migosi - Education
- Eric Muriithi - Water
- Dr. Margaret Ndungu - ICT
- Andrew Karanja - Agriculture
The nominees will be vetted before their appointment is confirmed. Key among the considerations being that Duale, Wahome and Kindiki will remain with their original dockets.
