Background

Kenyan Comedian Mulamwah—born David Oyando in Butere, Kakamega County—is a 31-year-old who has traversed the journey from nursing to becoming a comedy star as of 2024.

Education: Mulamwah is A student

Mulamwa is not as foolish as you would see him acting on TV.

His academic life is as interesting as his comedy life.

St. Anthony Boys' High School attended the hard work and dedication Mulamwah paid off with straight A's in his KCSE examinations.

He was placed at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, where he was persuing a Bachelor of Nursing degree.

Comedy Career

Unlike many would expect, Mulamwah did not have a smooth road to comedy. His comedy career dates back to University where he joined the Christian Union and other clubs where he nurtured his comedic talent. His father had insisted that he focus on his education rather than acting, but Mulamwah was determined.

He sacrificed a lot, even selling his phone to attend the Churchill Show auditions, then interned at Kenyatta Hospital to stay near the audition venue.

Three years later, and after much rejection, he was to finally break through.

Mulamwah's life turned out well when he married Ruth K.Together, they have a son named Kalamwah.

This new chapter brings balance tothe life of Mulamwah, who has to balance his professional success with being a husband and a father. Amid hurdles in his love life, Mulamwah remains focused on his comedy career and really appreciates his growing family.
